OUR STORY
Built from lived experience.
Driven by purpose.
Project 816 was born from hardship, healing, and the decision to begin again. Everything we do is rooted in one woman's journey — and the promise that every woman deserves the same chance to rise.
OUR VISION AND MISSION
A foundation for new beginnings.
VISION
A world rebuilt in peace
A world where every woman and child can rebuild their lives in peace, rediscover their strength, and rise with confidence after life’s challenges.
MISSION
Lasting independence
Project 816 empowers women and children to achieve lasting independence by providing long-term healing support, stable re-housing pathways, and essential resources that break the cycle of abuse. Through compassionate guidance and community partnerships, we help families rediscover stability, restore confidence, and begin again with hope and strength.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Michelle's story.
The name Project 816 carries deep personal meaning. Michelle was born on August 16 (08/16) at 8:16 AM—a reminder that even in life's hardest moments, there is purpose, hope, and the possibility of a new beginning.
Michelle's journey began with adversity at a young age. As a young single mother of four, she focused on survival—doing everything she could for her children while quietly carrying the weight of her own pain.
A pivotal moment forced Michelle to confront everything she had been carrying. It brought her to her knees—but also marked the beginning of her healing. Through that journey she discovered that healing isn't about perfection. It's about awareness, resilience, and the daily decision to keep moving forward.
That transformation became the foundation of Project 816—created to help women and children move beyond survival and into lasting stability.
Her story isn't about never struggling again. It's about choosing to rise, again and again, and believing that no matter where you begin, a different future is possible.
Because healing is not the end of the story—it’s the beginning.
WHY 816?
816 is more than a number.
It’s a symbol of purpose for every woman finding her calm and rebuilding her foundation.
816 represents new beginnings, divine alignment, and faith through renewal. Michelle was born on 08/16 at 8:16 AM — and that number became the foundation of a promise.
A promise that healing is possible. A promise that stability can be rebuilt. A promise that you do not have to move forward alone.
